Strange happenings are expected at the Peel Centenary Centre on Friday 28th November, when the Magicians of Mann stage a mystifying magic show commencing at 8pm.
‘An Evening of Magic’ promises to be an entertaining show for all the family, with more than a few surprises.
Secretary of the club, Mike Clague, explained. “We have some very talented magicians, and on this occasion the club aims to amuse and amaze those attending with a number of special illusions. Lawyer Lexi Watterson, our only female member and who is also a member of The Magic Circle in London, has been warned that she may well lose her head for a while during the show. It's a great illusion! Like our most recent member Juan Corrin, she started to learn the art of magic through the Young Magicians of Mann.”
He added "We are really looking forward to returning to Peel and putting the show in conjunction with the Centenary Centre. It's a wonderful community venue and perfect for magic, which is really popular at the moment. There are lots of magic shows on TV, but you can't beat seeing magic live - and we can guarantee there will no camera tricks or selective editing!"
Others taking part include Chris Burns a.k.a. Cookie the Clown, professional magician Colin Boardman, Keith Greenland, talented illusion builder John Cain and Frederick Stromberg from Sweden. Completing the line-up are the current Magician of Mann Paul Martin, and Michael Daniels. Michael featured in the recent successful TedX Douglas event at the Youth Arts Centre. The compere for the evening is Bev Michelson.
Tickets cost ?8 for adults and ?4 for children and are available online at
http://www.etickets.im/cc and at Shakti Man in Ramsey, Thompson Travel in Port Erin, Celtic Gold in Peel and Peter Norris Music in Douglas.
The Magicians of Mann meet on the third Tuesday of each month at the Catholic Columba Club in Douglas. New members are made very welcome and anyone interested can contact secretary Mike Clague on 878328 or
