Prom walkway questions

by isleofman.com 17th November 2014

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne will be quizzed in Tynwald this week over the future use of the Douglas promenade walkway.

He'll be asked whether a survey has been carried out into the use of the full length of the prom by pedestrians, cyclists, runners, walkers and families and, if not, will he instigate one to establish how the public uses the amenity.

Mr Gawne will also be asked whether a study has been made of the feasibility of renovating the prom while retaining the horse tram tracks in their present position, and what powers he has to change the use of the walkway from an area of public space to include a transport system.

Dudley Butt MLC is asking the questions when Tynwald meets tomorrow (Tuesday).
