by isleofman.com 19th November 2014

A cheese made by Isle of Man Creamery has won two prestigious awards at the World Cheese Awards in London on Friday 14th November 2014.

Silver and Bronze Awards were awarded to Isle of Man Creamery Vintage Cheddar. More than 2,700 entries from 34 countries competed for recognition at the Olympia Centre in London last Friday (14th November). The Manx product was successful in the all-important Cheddar Category. The cheese is made to a unique recipe and matured for up to 18 months giving it a distinctively rich, subtly sweet and nutty character.

Findlay Macleod, Managing Director of Isle of Man Creamery said:  "It’s the attention to detail of our cheese-making team and the consistently high quality of Manx milk that enables our cheese to perform well at major cheese competitions and enhance our reputation and sales around the world.  I am delighted for the team at the Creamery and our dairy farmers that we have won these Awards.  This recognition for the quality of our cheese is especially poignant in our 80th Birthday year".
