MHKs at loggerheads over media development fund

by isleofman.com 19th November 2014
South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft says there are more questions to be asked about the government's media development fund.
In Tynwald yesterday (Tuesday) she raised the issue again, saying there was a conflict of interest involving part of the deal.
After Treasury Minister Eddie Teare said Pinewood film advisors were appointed by the government to give advice on the fund at a cost of ?365,000, she circulated documents showing Pinewood pays Gasworks Media, whose sole shareholder is Steve Christian (?336,000).
He also sits on Pinewood's board.
Mrs Beecroft is not convinced by the arrangement but Mr Teare says there is no conflict of interest.Clip 1
