Union calls for post office closure delay

by isleofman.com 21st November 2014
The national head of the union which represents postal workers is calling for the relocation of the Island’s two main post offices to be delayed.

Isle of Man Post this week announced it was closing its loss-making flagship buildings in Douglas and Ramsey and moving them to nearby Spar shops.

That has caused anger and concern among residents and some staff.

National officer for the Communication Workers Union, Terry Pullinger, says the move contains the worst elements of privatisation and can’t comprehend the Island would not have a flagship crown post office.Clip 1
