Crowds thronged Ridgeway Street in Douglas last night for the Christmas lights switch-on.
The illuminations were turned on at 7.15pm and thousands were there to see them. There was a surprise firework display from the Town Hall roof. The event marked the start of late night Christmas shopping in the town.
