Minister encouraged by local authority response

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says he's encouraged by the response to proposals for more services to be provided by local authorities.
Last month, he wrote to all of them to discuss the possible transfer of functions such as hedge cutting, street sweeping and off-street parking.
Many have said they are willing to take on the additional responsibilities, and others have committed to looking at the plans further.
