by isleofman.com 25th November 2014

The Tynwald Christmas carol service will be held at St George’s Church, Upper Church Street, Douglas at 1.10pm on Thursday December 11th.

The President of Tynwald, the Hon Clare Christian, welcomes members of the public and the local business community to join Members and Officers of Tynwald, some of whom will be singing in the choir, for the service which will feature familiar and lesser-known music from the Isle of Man and elsewhere.

Extending the invitation Madam President said: ‘This is a very busy season of the year that places many demands on everyone. We would be delighted, however, to offer all those who have the time an opportunity to celebrate Christmas with us in song and prayer.’

A retiring collection will be made and the service is expected to finish at approximately 2pm, after which those attending are invited to stay for a cup of tea and a mince pie.
