Three people have received lengthy prison sentences for a number of offences involving the theft of $1.5 million.
It follows a police investigation which has been ongoing for six years over money which had been invested via an Island-based corporate service provider back in 2006.
Following a six week trial, Ian Darroch, was jailed for 9 years for 8 offences of theft, false accounting, forgery and conspiracy to pervert the court of justice.
His brother, Andrew Darroch, was jailed for a total of 2 and a half years for false accounting, forgery and conspiracy to pervert the court of justice and Christine Dirom was jailed for a total of 2 years for 6 offences of theft.
DC Julie Jones of the Financial Crime Unit says the offences were a serious breach of trust by Ian Darroch and Christine Dirom who stole considerable funds from a client bank account under their control and during their trial showed no remorse.
DC Jones says she hopes the sentences send out a strong message to the international financial community.
