Police say tens of thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to cars in Castletown in the early hours of yesterday morning.

35 cars were damaged in a vandalism spree – with snapped wing mirrors, broken wiper blades and punctured tyres.

Three men in their teens or early twenties were spotted damaging one vehicle in The Crofts at around 3am.

They’re described as being slim or athletically built, wearing dark clothing with hoods over their heads.

Vehicles in Janet’s Corner, Bowling Green Road, Pickard Close, Smetana Close, Athol Terrace, Malew Street and The Crofts were all targeted.

Officers say anybody with any information can contact Castletown Police Station on 822222 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
