Local landmarks will be lit up today to mark World AIDS Day.
The awareness campaign has been organised by the Isle of Man HIV Support Group. Buildings to be illuminated red will be the 'wedding cake' in Douglas, the power station and the Tower of Refuge. In Ramsey, the swing bridge and courthouse area will be lit up.
A spokesman for the group said: 'Raising awareness of HIV is crucial to get zero new HIV infections. A red AIDS awareness ribbon is worn around World AIDS Day which is a symbol of awareness, support and remembrance of those affected by HIV and AIDS. All Tynwald members, police and government department staff have been provided with red AIDS awareness ribbons.'
