ATL head criticises MHK

The head of a teaching union in the Island is the latest public figure to criticise an MHK who is reportedly not paying into their pension pot.

Last week, it emerged 23 out of 24 members of the House of Keys were making voluntary payments into the Tynwald scheme, although it’s not known who hasn’t been contributing.

Manx Radio has asked all members whether they’ve been paying in – and all 24 have replied saying they are.

Andrew Shipley of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers says many public servants are horrified one wasn't, it seems, until fairly recently:
