FoI bill passes latest hurdle

by isleofman.com 2nd December 2014
The next steps towards introducing a freedom of information bill in the Island have been taken in the House of Keys.
A proposed bill has received its second reading this afternoon (Tuesday).
Police and Reform Minister Chris Robertshaw is steering it through the house and told colleagues today it would completely change the mindset and focus of government.
He acknowledged general disappointment that only eight individuals had responded to a public consultation on the issue.
Government ministers have agreed the FOI regime should start in 2016 with a pilot scheme in two departments.
