Post office move delay will cost ?90,000

by isleofman.com 3rd December 2014
A three month delay of the relocation of the loss-making main post offices in Douglas and Ramsey will cost Isle of Man Post a further ?90,000.
So says chairman of the organisation Graham Cregeen after politicians voted to give the company more time to talk to staff and consider alternatives.
The decision to put the move on hold was made during an emergency House of Keys debate yesterday (Tuesday).

Mr Cregeen insists post office services will still be maintained in nearby Spar shops and insists Isle of Man Post has to balance the budget.
Isle of Man Post has welcomed the decision to defer the relocations and says it’s looking forward to working with those affected to identify alternative options.
However, chief executive Mike Kelly says the post office board and management continues to believe losses across its retail network cannot continue at the current magnitude.Clip 1
