Scrap CPA trips, says MHK

by isleofman.com 4th December 2014
North Douglas MHK John Houghton is calling for a moratorium on parliamentary trips after it was revealed the taxpayer had spent almost ?80,000 on them since 2011.
The figures emerged in a question for written answer to Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan this week.
Mr Rodan revealed trips with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association to places such as Sri Lanka, the Falklands, South Africa, Edinburgh and London had cost ?78,000 over the last three years.
Mr Houghton says in hard times, those trips should be scrapped and the money spent elsewhere:Clip 1
