Weapons amnesty produces lethal arsenal

by isleofman.com 5th December 2014
Police say their Island-wide weapons amnesty last month has been a big success - netting scores of potentially lethal weapons.
Owners of guns and knives who no longer wanted to keep them were invited to hand the weapons in to any police station during November, with no questions asked.
Some of the weapons were legally held, but many were not.
Police cannot say whether any had been used in criminal activity - but all the weapons will now be destroyed.
More than 110 hand guns were among the haul, which also included flick knives, a sword and knuckle dusters.
Inspector Mark Britton says the initiative has given a glimpse of the range of weapons in existence in the Isle of Man: Clip 1
