Government Online Services revenue surpasses ?1billion

by isleofman.com 5th December 2014
Isle of Man Government today announced that payment services delivered by www.gov.im have now received over ?1 billion since launching in June 2007.

Hon. Chris Robertshaw MHK, Minister for Policy and Reform said: ‘To achieve our vision of smaller, smarter Government, delivering services online is essential. Reaching this major milestone is clear evidence that customers of Government want to interact with Government online and we are striving to expand the range on offer.’

Dan Davies, Director of Change and Reform said: ‘Gov.im provides easy, convenient and secure access to a wide range of services. Registering is simple and within a few minutes, you can begin using services. We are seeing an increasing shift toward accessing services online and for areas of Government that offer fully online services, on average, over 50% of customers are choosing this option. Many more are accessing information that historically could only be provided by telephone, in person or via costly printed materials. There is still a lot we can do to provide more online services but it is really encouraging to have reached this level of uptake so soon.’

There are a large range of Government services that offer the security and convenience of online payment, including Government invoices, Vehicle Tax, Fixed Penalty Notices and Excess Parking Charges.

There are also a huge number of informational services from all Departments available from www.gov.im.
