Funding sought for new school

by isleofman.com 8th December 2014

Tynwald will be asked this week to approve expenditure of ?8.9million to build a primary school on the site of the old Noble's Hospital.

Almost ?1million has already been spent clearing the site. The new Henry Bloom Noble school will replace existing school buildings, Ballacloan and Fairfield. The Department of Education says they have served as school for more than a hundred years but are now restricted in terms of space, with not enough room on the existing sites for expansion.

The new school will have 14 classes and include a special educational needs unit as well as youth and community facilities.
