End in sight for Neighbourhood Watch?

An organisation that helps police prevent and clear up crime on the Island says it’s threatened with closure – because not enough people are joining in.

Neighbourhood Watch Isle of Man holds its AGM on Thursday (December 11) at Lord Street Police Station, starting at 6pm.

Its chair Glenda Corkish says there are now very few members – possibly because people perceive the Island as such as safe place to begin with.

But she says if more people don’t come forward and help, it could spell the end of the scheme here:Clip 1
