Constructive talks over fire service jobs

Every avenue will be explored to avoid redundancies at the Isle of Man fire service.
So say the Fire Brigades Union, the union Unite and the Chief Fire Officer Kevin Groom after they discussed the possibility, which would affect retained duty staff.
All parties say they’re aware of cuts to the budget and the impact on maintaining staff numbers.
They say the meeting was conducted in a very constructive manner and talks will continue with employees kept fully informed.
