Police have confirmed that Treasury Minister Eddie Teare and his family have been threatened - but won't reveal the nature of the threat.

They are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after Mr Teare received correspondence the police describe as being 'of a threatening nature', adding: 'The threats were serious and aimed at Mr Teare and his family. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.'

Anyone with information should contact Sergeant Vinny Lund at Ramsey police station.
