Treasury defends broadside from MHK

Treasury says it has no record of North Douglas MHK John Houghton submitting a form authorising pension contributions from his salary.

Neither has it had any contact from him about the scheme since Tynwald members were allowed to pay into their pension pots.

Treasury says it would not have been appropriate for the payroll section to remind him he was not making contributions.

Negotiations officer at government staff union Prospect Angela Moffatt campaigned for Tynwald members to pay towards their pensions.
