Worries over Ronaldsway weekend closure suggestion

A passenger watchdog organisation says it’s worried by the possibility of having the airport close on Saturday afternoons to save cash.

The idea was mooted during questions in Tynwald this week, when the example of London City was put forward as somewhere that cuts costs through an extended weekend closure.

But chairman of Travelwatch Brendan O’Friel says that airport closes because of planning conditions – and has nothing to do with finances.

He says there are concerns about shutting Ronaldsway for long periods of time:Clip 1
