Fire at chip shop in Peel

by isleofman.com 12th December 2014
This morning 2 fire appliances from Peel Station and the Duty Officer responded to the report of a cooking range fire at a fish and chip shop, East Quay, Peel.

The initial call that had been received had stated that there was a confirmed fire and everyone had been evacuated from the building.

Two Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a dry power hand extinguisher. Power was isolated, hot spots were checked for using a thermal image camera and the premises were vented using positive pressure ventilation.

Fire crews were in attendance for one hour to make the premises safe.
