Pension consultation a 'safety valve'

A safety valve for all government workers.
That’s how the MHK who called for a wide-ranging consultation over public sector pensions has described the latest developments.
Tynwald last week supported a motion from Bill Henderson ensuring there will be in-depth discussion with staff before any major reforms are made.
Members had initially been asked to receive a report highlighting a major funding gap and proposing increased contributions.
That can’t be just dumped on the workforce without warning, says Mr Henderson.Clip 1
