Equiom turns red for the British Heart Foundation

by isleofman.com 16th December 2014

Equiom Group has donated ?1,000 to British Heart Foundation (Isle of Man) after its staff turned from green (Equiom’s corporate colour), to red during October.

In the week leading up to Friday 31st October, Equiom staff were challenged to take a photograph of themselves wearing something red in support of the British Heart Foundation. A target of 140 photographs was far exceeded, which equated to a ?1,000 donation to the charity.

Jeremy Evans, Group Finance Director, suggested the idea to support the charity.  He commented: “This was a fun way to raise awareness of a worthy cause that Equiom is close to. I was overwhelmed by the support shown by Equiom staff and had a good giggle at the photographs!”

British Heart Foundation (Isle of Man) is a Manx registered charity, affiliated to British Heart Foundation, which spends the funds it raises on the Island.

Charles Sentance is Chairman for the British Heart Foundation (Isle of Man).  He commented: “I would like to express my thanks to Equiom for this generous donation which will make a significant difference locally.  Funds raised are spent on defibrillators and resuscitation equipment for the Isle of Man Ambulance Service as well as items for Noble’s Hospital, including the services of a specialist heart nurse”.
