Claim rates revaluation 'long overdue'

The revaluation of the Island's housing stock is long overdue - but very welcome.
That response from the Isle of Man Municipal Association to the news Treasury is to begin revaluing 40,000 propoerties early next year.
The current rating system, which has not been changed for many years, has been described by the chief minister as 'grossly unfair'.
Allan Bell says it must be updated if the Island is to introduce rates-based charges like the sewerage charge.
The Association's vice chairman Patrick commissioner David Talbot says a huge project lies ahead, as current ratable values are seriously out-of-date:
