This year, Isle of Man Post Office has joined together with Ballacottier School’s Rainbow Room and Reception class to create its 2014 Festival of Trees entry; a 6ft tall tree shaped advent calendar entitled ‘The Giving Tree’.
 
The Post Office is pleased to continue its tradition of supporting the Save the Children's annual Festival of Trees event by exhibiting a tree at Ronaldsway Airport. The Festival of Trees is an initiative which sees businesses create and exhibit a tree design, and members of the public can then vote for their favourite and make a donation with all the money raised going to the charity Save the Children.
 
On this year’s design, the front of each calendar door contains details of the last recommended posting dates for Christmas across the UK, Island, Channel Islands, Europe and the rest of the world along with other useful customer information, and behind each door is an image drawn by one of the children of Ballacottier School of a gift that they would like to give to a child less fortunate than themselves.
 
On the morning of December 17, Post Office representatives had the delight of being joined by some of the budding young artists at the airport who created the stunning images used in the calendar.
