Presents stolen in "heartless crime"

by isleofman.com 27th December 2014

Police are appealing to the public for help in what’s been described as a ‘heartless crime’ after a Douglas family were robbed of their presents in the late hours of Christmas day whilst they slept.

The house, on Primrose Avenue in Douglas was targeted by the intruder who snuck in through the back door, removing a games console and a Laptop computer, as well as cash.

Detective Constable Sam Cannell from the Criminal Investigations Department is appealing to the conscience of the Manx public for help in catching this person. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of the stolen PlayStation 4 or the white coloured HP Pavilion laptop or is offered them for sale, please be suspicious of where they’ve come from and contact Police headquarters on 631212 with any information you may have.

DC Cannell said:

“Unfortunately Burglary’s on the Island are on the rise and whilst the Police are doing all they can to catch those responsible, it serves as a stark reminder to the public to be vigilant with their property, ensuring doors are locked and minimising the chance of becoming a victim.”

You may also contact Isle of Man Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Crimestoppers is an independent Manx charity established to enable callers to pass information regarding criminal activity anonymously. Crimestoppers is not an agency of the Police. Crimestoppers will never ask callers for any personal details.
