by isleofman.com 28th December 2014

At about 6.50am this morning, Sunday 28th December 2014, a Road Traffic Collision occurred near to Alpine Corner on the main Kirk Michael to Ballaugh Road. As a result of the collision a 27 year old local man has lost his life.

The road was closed until 1.10pm whilst investigators carried out enquiries at the scene.

Sergeant Allan Thompson said:

“Emergency Services were called to the scene just before 7.00am this morning and the road remained closed for over six hours whilst investigations took place.   The collision involved a single vehicle, a blue coloured Ford Focus. We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen this car travelling in the Ramsey direction at that time. If anyone has information which could assist, I’d ask them to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.

The family of the young man has been notified and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”
