Steam Packet apologises over phone line backlog

by isleofman.com 29th December 2014
The chief executive of the Steam Packet has apologised to passengers who were unable to contact the company over the weekend.
With the Ben-my-Chree out of action until New Year’s Eve with a steering fault, the fast craft Manannan has been drafted in from its winter overhaul to cover the Ben’s scheduled Heysham sailings.
However, cancellations yesterday (Sunday) and Saturday were compounded with many passengers unable to contact the reservations team to make alternative travel arrangements.
Mark Woodward says extra staff were drafted in to help deal with the sheer volume of calls and he can understand passengers' frustrations.Clip 1
