Prison sentence for former Parish Walk winner

by isleofman.com 30th December 2014
A former Parish Walk winner has been jailed for performing a sexual act in view of his neighbour.

Vinny Lynch, 53, will serve an eight week sentence - four of those to be spent in prison and the other four via community service.

Deputy High Baliff Jayne Hughes gave Lynch credit for admitting to the offence and pleading guilty at an early stage.

She also praised him for agreeing to move house and having no criminal record or repeat offences since this incident.

However, because of a previous court appearance in 2012 for disturbing the same neighbour, she had to accept the disruption had been going on for a long time.

She told Lynch a ‘short, sharp sentence’ would send the best message to him and other would-be offenders.

Because all his negative actions were fuelled by alcohol, Lynch also received a 12 month ban under the Licensing Act, preventing him from entering licensed premises or buying alcohol.

The Douglas man has also received an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO).
