Locals recognised in New Year's Honours List

Four locals have been recognised in the Queen's 2015 New Year's Honours List.

Andrew Corlett has been awarded an OBE for his services to the Island's economy.  Mr Corlett is the Manging Director of well-known local law firm, Cains.

Stephen Bradley has been awarded an MBE for his services to the local retail sector.  Mr Bradley has been Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce's Retail Committee since 1993.

Charles Fargher has also been awarded an MBE for his services to local charities and the community.  Mr Fargher has been a key member of various local charities including The Children's Centre, Manx Blind Welfare Society and a founder of the Manx Agriculture Benevolent Trust.

Norman Rivers has been awarded a BEM for his services to the charity Friends of Chernobyl's Children (IOM).  Each year children affected by the aftermath of the Chernobyl catastrophe in 1986 come to the Island for a month.
