Fatal crash inquest opens

A man involved in a fatal car crash died as a result of a massive blunt force trauma, an inquest has heard.
Jamie Joseph Cowhig of Ramsey was killed when he crashed his car between Bishopscourt and Ballacobb on December 28.
A postmortem examination found he had traces of alcohol and a number of drugs in his system, including cocaine and ecstacy.
The coroner of inquests, John Needham, has adjourned the inquiry until a later date and has released the body to his family.
