Changes will not compromise care

by isleofman.com 6th January 2015
The Social Care Minister is insisting care of children and young people in the Island will not be compromised – despite a renewal of child care contracts which will save government around ?5.7 million over three years.
There’s been anger since provider St Christopher's Fellowship was awarded a number of contracts at the expense of long established Manx organisation, The Children's Centre.
And with more children going into foster care, there will be a reduction in the number of care homes from eight to four, leading to the predicted annual saving to the taxpayer of ?1.9 million.
However, Howard Quayle says child care remains the priority NOT value for money.Clip 1
