Tolkien passion inspires tribute

by isleofman.com 7th January 2015
The parents of Island brothers Jacques and Torin Lakeman, who lost their lives tragically in December, have begun a unique memorial to their sons.

The pair, aged 20 and 19, died together in Bolton, Greater Manchester, during a weekend trip.

An inquest is due to be held in April.

The brothers' shared passion for Tolkien's epic work Lord of the Rings is the theme of a far-reaching tribute, named the Jactor Project.

Relatives and friends have been invited to take miniature figures based on Tolkien's characters, on their travels, and hide them in memory of the boys.

From beaches and boats to an art gallery and an oil rig they are already travelling far and wide.
