Childcare contracts criticised by union

by isleofman.com 7th January 2015
A union maintains the Department of Health and Social Care has not handled the transfer of child care contracts well, despite the minister Howard Quayle's assurances.

It was announced last month St Christopher's Fellowship would take over a number of contracts from the Children's Centre.

Mr Quayle insisted the results of the procurement process would save money, while still being in the children's best interests.

But Unite the Union says the same mistakes are being made as the Post Office, when it controversially announced the transfer of some of its services to Mannin Retail.

Regional Officer Eric Holmes says the result of the process is not the problem:Clip 1
