Youth custody scheme launched

by isleofman.com 8th January 2015
A volunteer recruitment drive has been launched, ahead of plans to offer increased support for vulnerable young people in custody.
Police say the Appropriate Adult Scheme will help officers deal with an ‘increasing number of vulnerable people with mental health issues’.
It is a joint initiative involving the constabulary, the health department and the island's youth justice team.
Successful applicants will be given full training.
Applications should be made to CIRCA on 613713.
