Funds sought for residential unit

by isleofman.com 8th January 2015

Health and Social Care Minister Howard Quayle wants to spend just over half a million pounds to upgrade Thie Quinney residential unit in Ramsey.

He'll be seeking approval for the expenditure at this month's sitting of Tynwald.

The DHSC has described the unit as unique in that it gives people with a physical disability the opportunity to live independently with access to on site staff.

Spending of ?533,000 will provide for an upgrade of existing facilities to provide greater independence, add an extra apartment for residents with more specialised needs, and improve communal areas and the exterior of the building.
