Bell tolls for Willaston Methodist church

by isleofman.com 9th January 2015
The final sermon from the pulpit of a Douglas church will be given later this month, after the tiny congregation decided to call it a day.

Willaston Methodist church was built with the estate in 1960, to serve the community - but in recent years, numbers attending regularly for Sunday services have dwindled.

The building is currently used by a number of local groups, and will stay open for the time being.

Minister Reverend David Shirtliff says its use as a Methodist place of worship is over - but he hasn't ruled out its future use as another type of church: Clip 1
