Over 75 guests joined Paul Davis and local payment solutions consultancy, Counting House on Wednesday 7th to celebrate the Russian Orthodox Christmas with a Russian Christmas themed eClub.
A range of flavoured vodkas, blinis and caviar helped to set the scene as members of the Island’s eGaming community saw in the New Year with the first eClub instalment of 2015. The evening’s entertainment centred around the Russian Orthodox Christmas Day, which is currently 13 days behind that adopted by most countries. This is due to the Russian Orthodox Church’s decision to follow the old Julian calendar, as opposed to the Gregorian calendar adopted by the Bolshevik government in 1917. It is believed that the manner in which one celebrates a Russian Orthodox Christmas and New Year is reflective of the months to come, which certainly bodes well for eClub 2015.
Counting House facilitates inbound and outbound payments in local currencies through a robust network of worldwide banking facilities, eliminating the need for clients to establish complex international banking relationships of their own.
Commenting on the evening’s success, CEO of Counting House, Paul Davis said: “The eClub is now a regular feature of the eGaming calendar yet it never fails to welcome new faces to the eGaming community. It’s a chance for the sector to get together, maintain momentum and generate new impetus for a year’s operations within this exciting and fascinating field. Counting House is very proud to be at the centre of this community and we were very pleased to kick off the New Year in such style. I would like to thank everyone who attended and we hope to see you all next time.”
The eClub is a social meeting place for anyone involved in eGaming on the Isle of Man or those with an interest in the sector. The initiative was started by KPMG and Continent 8 Technologies to bring the growing number of people working in the sector together in one place and start building lasting relationships. As well as providing a social venue, the eClub party also gives colleagues and friends the opportunity to chat informally about ideas and issues within eGaming on the Island.
