More burglaries reported on Monday evening

by isleofman.com 13th January 2015
Police say two further attempted break-ins were reported to them yesterday evening, one of which was successful.
That's in addition to the eleven which were reported over the weekend, in Douglas, the south and the west.
They say these burglaries, and the ones which happened towards the end of last year are the Isle Of Man Constabulary’s priority.
Officers are working longer shifts and extra patrols are being deployed around the Island.
Arrests have been made in relation to the earlier incidents but inquiries are still ongoing.
The police say what was taken during these and other burglaries were things like electrical items, cash and jewellery.
If you know of anyone trying to sell or swap property like this, or they suddenly have more cash than normal report it to the police as soon as possible.
Officers say they are aware of Facebook groups being set up in relation to these burglaries.
They are urging people to think about what is going on these sites, to not put on there the names of people they think are responsible, and to not take matters into their own hands.
