Bags of cash for Manx charities

by isleofman.com 14th January 2015

Profits from a new range of reusable Co-op carrier bags will be donated to good causes in the Isle of Man.

Andrew Corrie, who manages the 10 local Co-ops, said: 'We have a strong commitment to the environment and we have an aspiration to reduce the numbers of plastic carrier bags that are in circulation.

'By buying any of our range of ?1 bags customers will not only be contributing to the environment but they'll have a stylish carrier which can be used time and time again, and they'll be raising money that will go to good causes.'

The Co-op is to confirm which good causes can bid for the funding, and how they can apply, during 2015. The profits from bag sales made from today (Wednesday) will be reinvested in local charities.
