Right policies needed for better housing, says Thomas

There are deaths in the Isle of Man every winter, thanks to the state of some accommodation, which could be avoided.
West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas brought up the finding of the Public Health Directorate while discussing the Landlord and Private Tenant (Private Housing) Bill on Mandate today.
Mr Thomas chaired a Tynwald committee which has assessed the bill, and deemed parts of it unintelligible.
The committee's report on the bill has called for it to be completely redrafted, and for it to cover all tenancies, not just those in the private sector.
