Protest march warning from police

by isleofman.com 14th January 2015

A march to protest against the closure of the main Post Office branch in Ramsey is due to get under way at noon on Saturday.

The police are appealing to those joining in the protest to take care. They will be controlling traffic along with stewards to enable people to march on the road with traffic following.

Organisers have asked people to congregate in the car park of Ramsey Town Hall at 12 to march along West Street and down Parliament Street before meeting outside the Post Office building.

Inspector Andy Kneen said: 'We would only ask that all people taking part, leave the road clear for the passage of traffic when they reach the Post Office, and if they choose to remain at the end of the march, that they gather on the pedestrianised area directly outside the Post Office.'
