Unemployment up slightly

Unemployment rose slightly last month, according to new government data.

At the end of December, 882 were looking for work – giving an unemployment rate of two per cent.

Over the course of the month 194 people signed on and 176 signed off the register.

The figures show 622 men and 260 women were looking for a job.
