Manx meat labelling questioned

Agriculture Minister Richard Ronan says consumers should beware of woolly phrases on food labels.

Yesterday in Tynwald, he faced questions about meat being described as “locally sourced” rather than produced on the Island.

He said his department was concerned such labels could mislead people into thinking they were buying Manx, and talks are underway with the Office of Fair Trade over the issue.
