Air support to catch burglars unrealistic say police

by isleofman.com 21st January 2015
Police say the use of equipment like helicopters and drones to help in the hunt for those responsible for a string of burglaries on the Island is just "unrealistic".
The force was commenting on its Facebook page following suggestions and ideas being circulated by members of the public via social media.
The post adds that for obvious reasons they can't give detailed information on how investigations into the burglaries are progressing but say their knowledge is massively increased by the eyes and ears of the public at large and with their help they will catch those responsible sooner rather than later.
Inspector Derek Flint says many of the ideas just aren't practical - or affordable.
