Police: helicopters too expensive to help

by isleofman.com 22nd January 2015

Helicopters can't provide practical or affordable assistance to police as they continue to hunt burglars responsible for around 30 burglaries on the Island in the last few weeks.

Police have commented on some of the ideas being floated by members of the public via their Facebook page.

Yesterday, another attempted burglary was reported - this time in Vicarage Park in Douglas.

Inspector Derek Flint says while social media can be very useful for both police and the public, some recent comments and suggestions being made aren't helpful.
