Appeal for volunteers in emergencies

A vital support service provided by St John Ambulance is looking for new recruits.


Community First Responders (CFR) help the ambulance service by offering reassurance and first aid skills until the ambulance arrives. Last year, CFRs responded to nearly 400 calls and there's been an increase in demand in the north, south and west of the island


A new training course gets under way at the end of February. Volunteers must be over the age of 18, have a full driving licence and 24 hour access to their own vehicle. To find out more, go along to the introduction meeting on February 3 at St John
Ambulance headquarters in Glencrutchery Road, Douglas, at 7pm. Or contact Gerry.Jones@sja.org.im
